Not ME! Monday!
It's Monday evening once again. Mondays have become very eventful in our household. It's the first day of the work week, I should be getting a lot of things done. You know, things that you put off all weekend and say, "I'll get to that later." Well to start things off, I did not have to throw a load of laundry in the wash late yesterday so McKenna would have some clean clothes to wear today.
I also didn't spend my whole morning shopping across town when I should be at home getting things done. Oh well, it was fun and I found what I was looking for.
I would never promise my girls a sweet treat after dinner so I could indulge in some yummy ice cream too!!McKenna is missing her two bottom teeth. She has trouble saying certain words and eating sometimes. I gave her an apple for a snack the other day. I did not let her convince me to peel the apple peel off so she could eat it better. We all know that all the "good" stuff is in the peel.
I know that I did some embarrassing things this past week but for some reason I am drawing a blank. So, I am going to tell you a little story from a few months ago. We were in the process of potty training Kambry. Aislynn was about a month and a half old at the time. We decided to take the family out to Chili's for dinner. I guess Kambry decided she needed to go potty, #2, and didn't tell us. So she had a dirty diaper and we needed to do something about it. I know what I am about to say sounds really gross but it was my solution to our problem. The problem was that once again, we were out of diapers in Kambry's size, so I told Bart to take the diaper off, clean it out the best he could and put it back on till we got home. He asked for one of Aislynn's diapers instead and I told him that there was no way that Kambry who was going on 3 years old could fit into a diaper made for a one month old. He convinced me that he could make it work some how or another. A few minutes later, Kambry and Bart returned to the table with a smile on their face. I said I would have to see it to believe it. Sure enough, he got that tiny diaper on Kambry. It was holding on by a thread. One big breath and it was sure to fly apart. The little diaper survived on her till we got home. When we did I got the camera out because I was laughing so hard at how silly she looked wearing it. I hope I never run into that situation again. So, for the record, I did NOT let my 2 1/2 year old wear a diaper made for my 1 1/2 month old.

A Day at the Doctor
Flower Hat
Here's Kambry with her brown hat and her bright pink flower on it. She looks so cute when she wears it. I need to get Aislynn and McKenna one so they can all match.
Headband Fun!!
I found this bag with all these headbands I bought for Aislynn and realized that I need to have her wear them and get some pics with them on. She is pretty good about leaving them on too. I think if she were a little older she would already be pulling them off the minute I put them on.

School Pics Today
Kambry and Aislynn wanted to get in on the action too. It looks like I am building my own softball team.
In local news, Pensacola is celebrating it's 450th Birthday. Today we had royalty visiting our town. The King and Queen of Spain were here marking the 450th anniversary of the founding of the first European settlement in the continental United States. I heard that you could dine with royalty for $250 per person but I decided to pass. The thought did cross my mind though.

"I think I am going to just lick my peanut butter off the bread"
"Sticking my tongue out while eating rice cereal is so much fun"
"You got me! I didn't want to smile, but you got me"
"Look at me, I can play the piano"
"I match my carseat"

Not Me! Monday! Again!
So I have decided to go for round two. I didn't just realize that today is Monday and not still Sunday. You see, my hubby has today off since it's President's Day. Whenever he is home I tend to believe it is still the weekend. So I find myself sitting here on the computer adding another blog at 9:00pm.
The past week and weekend went well. We were able to paint Aislynn's new room and get it ready for her to move into SOON!! The girls really wanted to help me paint and be a part of getting the room ready for Aislynn. I let them have one little square to paint but I would never let them see me go over that same area a couple of times to make sure it was painted well. Of course I should know that a 5 year old knows what they are doing when it comes to a paint brush.
I didn't take McKenna to get her hair cut so it would make combing it after her baths easier. Less hair=less tangles in my book.
I also have realized how hard it is to keep my kids names straight now that I have 3 girls. Even the animals get mixed in when the tough gets going. I didn't mean to say "Kambry" and say "Hemi" instead. I mean how hard is it to say the right name? Apparently much harder than I thought.
And last but not least we went to the mall yesterday. I didn't bribe my little ones with a ride on the carousel so I could go to my store first and then the Disney store.

Happy Valentine's Day
It's late on this Saturday of love but I thought I would write a quick note. I actually keep forgetting that it is Valentine's Day today because we already celebrated yesterday. Bart came home with a chocolate covered strawberry bouquet from Edible Arangements and a box of chocolates and a heart "I Love You" balloon. We ate up almost half of the strawberries after dinner. The girls helped me with the candy too. They just can't get enough. This morning we went to Krispy Kreme and had some heart shaped dounuts. They were so yummy but made me sick to my tummy because they are so sweet. It's been a while since I have had donuts in the morning. We did a little more shopping then did stuff around the house for the rest of the day. We are almost done getting Aislynn's room ready. The painting is done and is drying and the ceiling fan is up, now we just have to move everything and decorate....yeah!! I hope everyone out there remembers to tell their loved one just how much they mean to you. Sometimes we just don't say it often enough. Have a great day.

What's my Name? Car talk...
As I was driving with Kambry and Aislynn today to go pick McKenna up from school, I hear Kambry behind me talking. I turn down the radio to listen a little closer. You see, she has this sweet little quiet voice so sometimes it's hard to make out. She was saying, "My name is Kambry Lynn, your name is Aislynn Kate, and Mama's name is....Mama." I asked her again what my name was and she replied, "Mama." I explained to her that even though I was her mama and she called me that my real name that everyone calls me is Lindsay. She didn't seem to get it. Then I decided to keep going and asked her what Dadda's name was and she said, "I don't know." I told her it was Bart and she said, "oh, Bart." The funniest was when I asked her what McKenna's name was. She quickly responded, "Kenna Benna!" I busted out laughing and told Kambry that her real name was McKenna Haylie. I guess we call Kenna, Kenna Benna so much that Kambry thought it was her real name.
Not Me! Monday!
This is my first time to participate in Not Me! Monday! but I have found so much enjoyment from reading everyone else's that I decided to join the fun. I have found that even though I don't have a lot of free time around the house, I always make time to sit down and relax at the computer once a day.
My two older girls still take a bath together. It's a way of getting the job done quicker and letting them get some enjoyment out of playing together in the water. I admit I don't bathe them every day. If they are noticeably dirty they get bathed, but sometimes I think I just get the lazy bug. I didn't skip their bath on Friday night(which they needed)to sit down and watch a movie with a friend I invited over.
I would never let Kambry get out of finishing her dinner because I was still a little hungry and wanted to finish off her leftovers. I know I didn't need any more but those sloppy joes were just so good I had to have some more.
My littlest baby girl is approaching six months old this month. She still wakes regularly in the middle of the night to nurse. I have not worked much on weaning the night feedings as I had planned. I didn't just bring her to bed almost every night this week because I was too tired to sit up and feed her. I did not wake up with her next to me every morning this past week. And I did not let my 3 year old climb into bed with us and wake up to her head laying on top of the baby's. We explained to her that she must stay in her bed from now on.
I didn't accidentally take a water bottle from Lowe's and forgot I didn't pay for it until I was in the car driving away. The water quenched my thirst and the girls enjoyed it too. I guess you could say I was a thief this weekend.
I am sure there are more things I have done but for now that's all I can think of. Until next week....I will try to be better...hehe.

She found her foot
Aislynn is making me work to give her a diaper change these days. She likes to grab something, usually her foot and insert it into her mouth. Sometimes I give her the diaper to play with but when it comes time for me to take it away and put it on her she doesn't want to let go. It's amazing how flexible babies can be.

The Tooth Fairy forgot me
Yesterday, McKenna's second tooth that was ready to come out finally did. Of course it was with the help of daddy. He barely touched it and it fell out before McKenna even knew it did. Aparently, she didn't even feel it. She was so pround once again that she lost another tooth. Right away she went and got her little tooth fairy doll that we got for her over the Christmas holidays and put her tooth in the little pouch. I honestly forgot all about last night. This morning when she woke up, Bart went to go get her ready for the day and she just sat there looking all sad. He asked her what was wrong and she replied, " The Tooth Fairy let me keep my tooth but she didn't give me anything." So quick thinking and Bart replies, "well, just go potty for now, we will look around in your bed, maybe it fell out." Kenna came back into her room and she looked around a little more. Then she smiled really big and said that the tooth fairy left it (a quater) on top of there and pointed to her headboard. Thank goodness the tooth fairy didn't forget her. And, if that didn't make it bad enough, when she got to school this morning one of the other little girls lost a tooth yesterday too. She was holding up a dollar bill saying, "look what the tooth fairy brought me last night." I am sure McKenna doesn't really know the value of a dollar when she only got a quarter but she probably is wondering why she didn't get a doller too. I told her that maybe the tooth fairy was waiting for the top teeth before she got a dollar. Anyways, just wanted to share that story with you. Hope everyone out there keeps all their teeth.
Fun from this past weekend
This past weekend my friend Jennifer, from college, came to visit. It was so nice to have her here and be able to hang out and catch up from the past year or so. I realize how much I miss being in Texas and being able to get together with my friends from college. It's nice being forced to travel all over the United States but then again I wish I could choose where I wanted to live. On Saturday night, we went to a restaurant called McGuire's. It is a steakhouse with lots of personality. We had great food and conversation. The girls enjoyed going to the bathroom every 10 minutes. I think they just liked getting up and walking around. Then, on Sunday we were able to take her out to the beach and walk around on the white sands and see the beautiful blue green water and crashing waves. We even grabbed a cup full of shells for her to take back to Texas. All in all, it was a nice visit. We just all wish it would have lasted a little longer. I am posting a few pics, so enjoy.
