Show Us Where you Live Friday

Here is my second post for the day. Kelly over at Kelly's Korner started this blog carnival last week with kitchens. I didn't get in on that one, don't worry, you aren't missing all that much. I decided to play along and show those of you where I live. This week it is all about the living room/family room. Since we only have one room, here it is.

We spend almost all of our time here. I really like how it is so open to the dining area and kitchen. I know my decorating skills could use some work but it is what it is.

Maybe I will join in next week too...who knows. Tonight McKenna has a t-ball game so I will be busy busy and then the weekend is just around the corner...yeah!! I can't wait to see everyone else's living rooms.

Constructive Feedback Friday

The wonderful people over at I Heart Faces are doing something great for us people who don't know the ins and outs of photography. They are helping us when it comes to editing our photos and making them better. I just got this camera two days ago and have played with it just a little. Here is a photo I took of Aislynn yesterday sitting on the swing on our back patio. It was in the afternoon around 4 so the light outside was quite bright. I tried to stay in the shade..but since we just planted our first tree this past weekend I didn't have much to choose from. Anyways here it is taken on Manual mode 1/100, F 5.6, ISO 100. I hope that means something to those photographers out there. It is still somewhat a foreign language to me.
And here are my edits I did with Picnik. I don't have anything fancy like photoshop though that may be a purchase sometime in the future. Since I did them last night and was getting tired I am not sure if they are the best I could do. I think it's a little washed out. Maybe I liked it like that last night and now today looking at it in the light, it's not the same..I don't know. Anyways, I could use some suggestions from people who know what's going on, unlike myself at times.

The newest addition!!

Thanks to Sonya who introduced me to the latest member of the family, I am proud to announce our new addition!!! YES, I finally decided to go out and get a new camera. I haven't done all that much with it yet because it didn't arrive until late yesterday afternoon and Kenna had a t-ball game so the evening was already full. I am ready to start snapping away and I am sure I will have lots of pics to post this weekend. I thought long and hard about what camera I wanted and in the end decided on the Canon T1i. It should do all I want it to. If I ever decide to do photography more full time instead of just for fun then I might get something a little more professional. I am already so pleased with my decision. Thanks again Sonya for telling me about this new model!!

Time to Think

I feel as if I have been so busy over the past week that I don't even have time to think. Life takes over sometimes and it's all I can do to stay afloat. Here is a typical week at our house: Monday- laundry, dishes, cleaning up toys from the weekend, trip to the post office, cooking dinner, dropping off and picking up McKenna from preK, lunches, baby naps, t-ball game or practice, baths, getting ready for the next day Tuesday-same thing all over again, Wednesday-same thing again minus t-ball and minus trip to the post office, Thursday-lots of tidying up from the week, getting ready for the weekend, starting weekend projects early, still cleaning and laundry, and dishes, and lunches, and dinner, and baths...Friday-I usually take this day to do no cleaning, I try to relax a little, get ready for the weekend, t-ball games, dirty babies, stay up late...or try to.
Anyways, I am busy. Yet, for my sanity I still find time to sit down each day at the computer and do something for me. I edit photos, blog, email friends, figure out ways to add to my ETSY shop, and take myself out of the busy-ness of the house.

I try to find time to think.

I Heart Faces -Hats

The theme this week is HATS over at I Heart Faces. This photo of Aislynn was taken a few weeks ago at Easter. She just looks so cute with that little bunny hat on. I am still deciding if I am going to do an adult entry or not. Only time will tell... But for now, here's the kids entry.

Alright, I decided I would go ahead and put this photo in for my adult entry. It's not my favorite by any means but it's cute. My husband had been working hard on our landscaping project all weekend and was tired, hot, and not really wanting to take any pictures. After he drenched himself with a pitcher of water I told him to give me a little pose and this is what I got.

Not ME! Monday!

Mckmama's back and so is Not Me! Monday! Welcome everyone. This blog carnival was created by MckMama herself. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
Aislynn is sitting up quite well these days so now when we go out to eat she gets to sit in a highchair and enjoy dinner with us. That being said, I did not get so involved eating my own food and totally miss the fact that she grabbed a coaster and had a whole chunk of it bitten off and in her mouth before I realized what she had done. Luckily I got it all out and she didn't end up eating cardboard.

I would never be so lazy with washing clothes that McKenna wore her t-ball uniform for three games straight without it being washed. I had more than one pair of socks so at least those were clean.

I wanted to get some sun this weekend because I am so white. I thought it would be a good time to get some at McKenna's t-ball game on Saturday at noon. I didn't let myself go the game with a sleeveless shirt, not put any sunscreen on at all, and then want pity for my sunburn. It wasn't my fault, the clouds were out when we left for the game, and we all know how deceiving that can be.

I have not been a blog slacker lately and just be too lazy to think of a good post. These days it seems as if I am getting all caught up in trying to be better at photography and letting my day get away from me. So, sorry fellow bloggers for the lack of interesting posts.

I am not the one who decided I should just invite the girls in the shower with me the other night because I really didn't feel like running the bath water, kneeling down, and washing them after a long evening at the ball park. At least they got clean somehow.

On another very important note, I would like to congratulate my friend Joy who just gave birth to twins yesterday. The babies were born 8 weeks early and are in the NICU right now. Please keep them in your prayers.

Fix It Friday #12

Well it's "Fix It" time again over at I Heart Faces. The photo this week was of a cute little boy. As you can see in the first image, there are a lot of shadows and darkness around his face.
After doing a little of this and a little of that this is what I can up with. I can't remember what all I did but I know I worked a little with the exposure, softened it up a little, and gave his color a pop. I know I could probably do more if I worked with it longer but I am still happy with what I have now.
Have a great Friday everyone!!
