The trees are up

Every year we decorate for Christmas basically the same way. This year I really wanted to do something a little different. So we did two trees instead of just one. We have an artificial tree that we set up next to the fireplace with all the ornaments from the past seven years. We have a way with collecting ornaments and it's always neat to pull them out and see where all we have been and how our family has changed. Then we went out and bought a real Christmas tree too. I have been wanting to do a fancier tree and this was my year to do that. I decided on gold and red and I am happy with how it turned out. Here is our tree of many years:

And here is our real tree:

Now I am just trying to get all the presents wrapped and put under the tree so I can quit hiding them all over the house.

I love "both" of your trees. I wish I could have seen how excited the girls must have been to see them all decorated. Your fancy tree is so elegant & pretty and your family tree, as well as being pretty has all your special ornaments collected through the years. What a great start to the holidays!

They look great! We were going to have 2 trees this year too but haven't gotten around to buying a real tree. Ou poor artifical tree is 8 years old and we had to zip tree it together this year :) I used to have a matching ornament tree but how do you not hang the kids ornaments on there?
I ended up buying bright colored bulbs and trying to make our kids tree look fancy :)

I LOVE the bow on the top.. I wish I'd have done that.. Maybe if I get the other tree up ;)
