Spring Break Day 1

McKenna has spring break this week. My husband took the week off so we could do some family things when I didn't have to work. Today we planned to go to Mobile and see the Dinosaurs Downtown exhibit. I am so glad we chose today because it was absolutely beautiful weather. The girls had a great time exploring the Exploreum and we all learned a few things. We even had time to catch an IMAX show about Dinosaurs and everyone did so well watching the movie, even Aislynn. She just sat on my lap and stared up at the screen the whole time. When it was time to leave I practically had to drag McKenna and Kambry out, they weren't ready. I told them that we would definitely go back soon. Here are a few photos of our adventure today.

Working Again

Have you missed me at all around bloggy world? Well, I have been a busy little bee. Seems like all the mommas decided to start having babies in March this year. January and February were pretty slow in our neck of the woods but watch out, March has been hopping. I normally work about two days a week. Just to show you how busy it's been, I worked five days last week and I am about to leave for my third day this week! At least I am getting some hours in even though I don't always welcome the stress of being busy all the time. I like some action, but too much can get tiring.
I have really been wanting to sit down and write another post but lately I just haven't felt like it. I did a lot of couch sitting over the last few days when I wasn't working because Aislynn was sick with a fever for four days. She had some yucky nose stuff but I also think she is getting more teeth. Her mouth is filling up so quickly.
Last Friday we got a new patio cover put on. I am so excited about it because the summer is quickly approaching and I know how much the girls like to spend all their time outside in the little itty bitty purple plastic pool we have. The problem was that we had no shade. I didn't like sitting out there in the blazing sun. Now, I can sit out under the cover, with the fan on, and watch them splish splash about. I am very excited about getting lots of use out of it this year!

We are hoping to head to Mobile, AL over the weekend and take the girls to the Dinosaur Exhibit. They are so excited to see it! I think it will lots of fun for the whole family. Let's hope the weather holds out.
I haven't picked up my camera much in the past few days either, I hope to find some time for that this weekend too! One of my co-workers just got a camera like mine for her birthday so we have plans to go shooting together. That is if we can find time when are both not working (that's hard to come by these days).

I have been trying to keep up with everyone the best I can. I know I haven't been commenting as much but I am still reading every chance I get. Maybe I can sit down again in a couple of days and post some new photos.

I Heart Faces "Angles"

It has been a few weeks since I have participated in this fun photo contest they have each week at I Heart Faces. When I saw the theme for this week I knew of a few photos I really liked that I could use. It was hard to narrow it down to just one but in the end this is the one I decided to go with. The goal of this week was to have a photos with interesting angles. Since I am fairly new to photography and all I have been experimenting with lots of different angles and tried to find what looks good.

They grow up too fast...

Everyone tells you to to cherish each and every moment because before you know it, it's gone. Boy are they right. I have been married almost 8 years and have a 6 year old, 4 year old, and an 18 month old. As much as I am loving my life right now I am also realizing that it is changing so quickly. My little babes are no longer so little. They are walking and talking and singing and asking questions all the time. There are no silent moments in our house. There is no running a quick errand. But that's okay, because I have a wonderful family and wonderful girls that I am so happy I have. We are all healthy, we have a roof over our heads and food on the table every night. I will deal with the struggles on not wanting to eat what's for dinner, I will deal with baths and bedtimes. I get to do these things, I get to be a mom! I am totally grateful for that. Some days I wish I could just turn back the clock, make my babies little again. I am already missing the time that has escaped me so quickly. Sometimes I am in too much of a hurry, sometimes I don't appreciate the everyday moments. Today is not one of those days. Today I am taking it one moment at a time. Today I am watching as the day moves on. Here is what I am seeing:

Innocence in my little ones eyes:

Smiles on my oldest face:

Sweetness looking up at me:

And I get to capture time here in my photos. It's a way of slowing things down, if even just for a moment.

Fix It Friday #47

I would say this week's Fix It Friday was photo was quite a challenge. It is such a precious photo of this little girl watching her Grandpa play pinball. I just love the lights coming from the game at the bottom of the photo. Here is the original photo:

Computer Time

Work has been busy the past few days to say the least. I was called to come in early on Friday, so I did. I was scheduled Sat and Sun. Then I was also called to work Monday. It was a busy four days and I didn't get much time on the computer. That's why I haven't blogged in a while. Then, yesterday was a rainy, dreary day. I just wasn't in the mood to do anything. I did a little laundry, took a little nap, and read a little book. What a lazy day it was. When I woke up this morning and saw the sun was shining instead of it raining like the forcast called for I was very happy. I know I have said it before but the weather really affects my mood. Today I am happy and smiling and getting a few more things done. This afternoon though, it's off to work. Here are a couple pics of what we have been up to today.
-Dallas sleeping upside down as usual.

-Aislynn not getting her way about something silly.

-Jake yawning cause he's bored.

Fix It Friday #46

It's been a few weeks since I participated in Fix It Friday. I always enjoy doing it though. It keeps me working on my editing skills plus I get to read about how others "fix-it" too! Isn't this little boy precious? Here is the original:

And here are my fixes:

Yes, I still use Picnik for the most part even though I got Photoshop Elements 8 for Christmas. I just haven't taken the time it takes to really learn how to use photoshop. To me, it's not all that user friendly. You have to know what you are doing and that takes time. Anyways, I just love Picnik and for now I am happy still using it. One day though, I hope to master photoshop too! If you want to play along or just look at some other great fixes, head over to I Heart Faces now.

Enjoying the weather

This past weekend we had some pretty nice weather. It was sunny and a little cool but perfect for us to get outside. We had nothing planned so we decided to grab the girls scooters and head over to base to take a walk along the seawall. This base use to be a seaplane base but after Ivan destroyed the hangers it is a little different. Still, it was a great place to spend some time playing as a family. Our goal lately is to try to spend as much time doing things together as we can. Here are some pictures from our day.

Here Aislynn is pointing at a dead bird head. She was facinated by it.

Climbing up all on her own. She is such a big girl.

Kristen and Matt's Engagement Session

It was an absolutely beautiful day for photos. The wind was a little stronger than I would have liked but other than that, it was a great day. This sweet couple who I had so much fun shooting ended up with some great shots. We walked around downtown and found some neat places for photos. I have photographed Kristen before and she is great in front of a camera. Can't wait to do more of them in the future!
*My body of my blog is not wide enough for some of these photos. I will have to figure out how to fix that. So you will just have to imagine what it would look like. Sorry!
