The Last Day of 2009

What, another year gone already? The time just flies when you are having fun! This past year has been full of new and exciting things. I started a new job in the summer, my youngest turned one year old, McKenna started Kindergarten, Kambry started going to preschool two days and week, and my husband completed his first triathlon. We kept very busy with many extra activities too! McKenna played t-ball for the first time in the spring and both McKenna and Kambry played soccer for the first time in the fall. I can't wait for next year! Aislynn is still very unsteady at times and has a tendency to fall and hit her head. On Monday, she fell and hit the doorway to her room. Now a big ole' bruise is on her forehead. I don't have any photos for this post but I am just trying to play catch up with blogging. The holidays are still slowing me down. Hooray for the last day of 2009. Here's looking to 2010!!

Where Have I Been?

The holidays have seem to just drag me into laziness but also kept me busy doing other things. In the past 10 days I have only worked one time. I have done lots of shopping and lots of cooking, baking and cleaning. I have watched all my children open their presents with big smiles on their faces, and have bagged many bags of trash from all the boxes and paper. Our trees look so sad with no presents under them. We will keep them up and lit till the new year, which is quickly approaching. Soon it will be 2010! Wow, another decade gone by. I hope this year is even better than the last. Grammy and Aunt Sabrina are visiting us now. My hubby and I actually have plans for New Years Eve....I will tell more later. This week should be fun.
I can't leave a post without any photos...so here are a couple.

Merry Christmas!

Family1-5x7
Wow, I can't believe that Christmas is almost over. We have been so busy around here the last couple of days that I haven't been able to update my blog.
First, I want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. I hope you all had a wonderful day and spent it with the ones you love.
My girls have been on cloud nine over the past week. First it was all the activities at school last week and then Nana coming to visit. Then we got to start making Christmas cookies together and getting all of our presents wrapped. We ate a delicious meal on Christmas Eve with a yummy ham as our main course. That evening we all sat around on the floor and opened presents one by one. I think it took about an hour and a half to do that. We did lots of cleaning of wrapping paper and got ready for bed. Santa had his milk and cookies and then left the girls some wonderful presents. This morning we woke up and had a wonderful breakfast. The sun came out and we decided to drive to downtown and try out my new lens. It was a great day! Here are just a couple of photos of the past few days. I hope to add more soon.

The Monday before Christmas

Wow! Is it already that time? Christmas has snuck upon me once again. Just when I thought I was all caught up on shopping and getting ready for the holidays, the time has come so quickly and now I feel as if I have so much to do. Nana is here visiting and the girls are loving all the attention. I got most of my wrapping done but now I am planning my meals. I love to eat during the holidays. It's probably not a good thing but I really enjoy all the yummy food. Are you ready for Christmas? Do you still have shopping to do?

I wanted to say a huge congratulations to all my bloggy friends our there that had their babies in the past two weeks!! I know many of them were ready to have those precious additions just in time for Christmas.

We are busy around here, I will try to post some pictures soon. Have a great week everyone!

Party Time

It's that time of year again. I love parties! Any gathering with people and food and I am there. Tuesday we had a Christmas party with my work. We had it at a pizza place called the Mellow Mushroom. I had never been there before but it was so yummy I will definitely be going back. We had a great time and passed around gifts and watched the kids be silly. I took Aislynn and another girl brought her little boy. They shared food with each other, it was pretty cute to watch. Tomorrow we are going to a party for my husband's work. It's adults only so I am ready to have a good time. The girls are going to daycare for the evening. Then, on Saturday Nana is coming to visit. The girls are very excited about that. Here are a few pics from us having fun at the party a couple of days ago.

The Results

I did end up taking Aislynn into the dentist and this is what he said: She will be fine. The two teeth are not broken and will survive. They are pushed up and back approximately a mm each way. Even though her baby teeth may not line up and those will be farther back they should continue to grow in and will in no way affect her permanent teeth. That is good news! This is the x-ray of her teeth from yesterday.

Ouch!

Yesterday while I was at work, Aislynn fell on the corner of the coffee table and hit the side of her mouth. She was asleep when I got home and I didn't see her until this morning. I was getting her dressed for a couple of quick pictures with her sisters and noticed that something didn't look quite right. The right side of her face is all swollen and as I went in to inspect a little closer I saw that the inside of her lip is purple and very swollen and the right upper teeth/gum area seems to look like it is pushed back. I am not sure if it's just all the swelling that's making it look this way or if her teeth are pushed back. Has anyone else had an incident like this? I think I should call a dentist to see what is going on or if anything needs to be done. Any advice would be great. She doesn't seem to be in any discomfort so that is a good thing.
Here are all my girls together...looking so sweet. By the way, we did have to bribe them with getting to paint afterwards in order to get full compliance. In the end, it was worth it for me!

Loving Christmas Time!

Aislynn Red Hat-1-2
Even though we don't have very cold weather here in Florida, at least it is getting cold enough for me to wear long sleeves and even a jacket every now and then. I just love going shopping at Christmas time. I know you probably think I am crazy saying that and don't get me wrong..I hate the crowds, but I love the sounds of bells and Christmas music. I also love all the holiday decorations all around. I love having the Christmas tree up and decorated, the lights all on the house, the fire going in the fireplace, the stockings hung above, and our family cozied up on the couch with a nice warm blanket. What a wonderful time of year. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far!

Fix It Friday #39

What a cool photo for Fix It Friday this week at I Heart Faces. I didn't really know what I wanted to do with this photo but I am so happy with how it turned out. You should play along too. I would tell you what all I did but I did so many things that I can't actually remember them all.

All About Aislynn

Aislynn has made it to her 15 month mark as of a couple of weeks ago. I have yet to take her for her check up appointment because I ended up having some schedule conflicts with work and now her appointment is set for next week. I can tell you some things she is doing now.
Walking, Walking, Walking...everywhere. I think it's the cutest thing when babies first start to walk. She waddles all over the place and I love it! Talking, Talking, Talking! She loves to make noise. She says the words dada, night night, juice, and "sings" jingle bells with her sisters. She tries to repeat many words we say and is getting better by the day. I will have a real weight on her next week at her appointment but I am guessing she is about 19 1/2 lbs. She likes to play peek a boo and loves to copy everything her sisters do. She even "talks" on the play phone. I think she is ready for Christmas even though she doesn't really understand it. She loves to look at the trees and tries to play with the ornaments at times. She is very good at stopping when I tell her no. Here are a few pics from the other day. It is so hard to get her to stay still any more these days.

I Heart Faces "Sweet Dreams"

I Heart Sleeping Children. They are so innocent, so sweet, and can do no wrong. When I took this photo on Saturday of my sweet Kambry I didn't even realize that the theme this week at I Heart Faces was "Sweet Dreams". I can't wait to see everyone else's entry. I am sure there will be some good ones.

Simply Kambry

She let me do a mini photoshoot with her the other day. It didn't last very long, she got tired quickly, but I think we got some cute ones.

Fix It Friday #38

Everyone knows how much I enjoy editing photos! Each week at I Heart Faces I get a chance to edit someone else's photo and see what I can come up with. Here is a precious baby boy for this week's model. This is the origial:

These are my edits:
4154338158_8cdd04a43f_b-2
4154338158_8cdd04a43f_b-3
I did all my editing with Picnik. For the first one I increased exposure and contrast a little. Then I touched up his face by smoothing it out and used the eye bright feature for his eyes. I then played around with the curves a bit and did a little cropping. For the second edit I turned in to sepia and then brough back about 20% color.

The trees are up

Every year we decorate for Christmas basically the same way. This year I really wanted to do something a little different. So we did two trees instead of just one. We have an artificial tree that we set up next to the fireplace with all the ornaments from the past seven years. We have a way with collecting ornaments and it's always neat to pull them out and see where all we have been and how our family has changed. Then we went out and bought a real Christmas tree too. I have been wanting to do a fancier tree and this was my year to do that. I decided on gold and red and I am happy with how it turned out. Here is our tree of many years:

And here is our real tree:

Now I am just trying to get all the presents wrapped and put under the tree so I can quit hiding them all over the house.
