Disney on Ice

Friday night we all went out to see Disney on Ice.  I really wanted to do something fun for the girls since we hadn't done anything big lately.  Even though we had to deal with the rain while walking in and out of the arena, it was still a fun time for all.  Even Aislynn started clapping and dancing by the end.  I don't think the girls had a favorite act, they seemed to enjoy them all.  I couldn't believe the moves they were doing, especially being on the ice.  Some of you reading this may not know that my husband and I were on a country/western dance team in college.  We did polka routines and jitterbug.  I used to be thrown around in the air(not so much these days) and some of the moves they were doing on the ice we did on the ground.  I just couldn't imagine being on skates and doing the same thing.  That's talent right there.  Here are a few pics of the night.  If you ever get a chance to go and take your kiddos I would suggest doing it.  It was a family night of fun!

Father's Day and Our Anniversary

Today, June 21, is Father's Day but it is also the day my husband and I were married 7 years ago. This photo is of my dad and I from this day seven years ago. He passed away last year right about this time from COPD. So Dad, Happy Father's Day up above, I hope you are watching down on us and smiling today!

First time a Father: January 5, 2004- McKenna Haylie was born.

Second time a father: January 17, 2006- Kambry Lynn was born.

Third time a father: August 22, 2008- Aislynn Kate was born.

This morning we woke up at a fairly early hour, got dressed, and headed out the door to Cracker Barrel to take Daddy out for breakfast. We love country cooking and had our fill on anything and everything. Even Aislynn joined in and had many bites of pancakes, grits, scrambled eggs, biscuits, hashbrown casserole and even finished off her banana plum grape baby food. She wanted more and more and fussed until she got it. I think we are just going to relax around the house for the rest of the day. I love a lazy Sunday, it just makes more work for Monday right?
These years have gone by so quickly and now we have three beautiful daughters, one dog, and two cats. The above picture is from out first dance as a married couple. We love to dance and miss the times when we could easily go out on a Friday night. I don't see any of those days coming soon, maybe down the road when are kids are more grown. At least we have a loving home with many memories made each and every day.

Happy Father's Day all you fathers out there and Happy Anniversary to us!!

I need practice!!!

Earlier this week I mentioned that I was going to take some family photos for my friend who just had a new baby. Lots of family members are in town visiting so we found it to be the perfect opportunity to get some shots of everyone together. I decided to do most of the photos outside on the back porch but since it's screened in, I didn't have a lot of room to work with. Taking pictures is much harder work than it should be. I was trying to get good angles but was met with some challenges. The baby was of course adorable in her little black and white outfit but I know I still need lots and lots of practice. I need more people to practice on. Otherwise I guess my kids are going to get sick of the camera. Here are a few of my favorites.

S'mores Schmores

Last night was family night at our house. Every week we try to find one day where we can all do something together. McKenna has been begging for the past few weeks to go to Olive Garden. At first she was just calling it the place with the grapes on it. We went there one time and she remembered she liked it and that there were grapes on the outside. We kept telling her that it was called Olive Garden and so that is all she wanted everytime we asked her what she wanted for dinner. This week we gave it and decided it was a family night thing to do. So, we went out to eat, had some yummy salad and breadsticks along with our meal and then came home and made s'mores on the grill. Of course the grill does not work as well as a campfire but we made due. And boy were they messy. I think the girls had a good time. What do you think??

And of course I had to add a random picture of Aislynn when she was modeling the baby caps for me.

Our Trip to the Zoo

I don't live in a big city. I don't have a big zoo.
We wanted to take the girls out to do something because the weather has been so nice the past few days. So, we decided to go the small zoo we have about 45 minutes from our house. The girls had a great time. We saw many different animals, took a short train ride, and fed a some animals too. The girls wanted to stay all day but mama was getting hot and Aislynn was getting tired and hungry. So we did all we could do and then headed home. Here are a few of the things we saw.

Let's have a great week!!
One more thing: My friend Jennifer just welcomed her second baby boy on May 28th. He is so precious. So congrats to JEN and baby Parker!!
