We decided to have a short photo session today when Aislynn was in a good mood. She is doing better with having good days. I love my girls!!!

McKenna must of had a rough day at school. She passed out on the couch this afternoon.

Fun at the Fair

On Saturday the weather was georgous so we decided to take a trip to the annual fair and enjoy the day. It was loud, crowded and full of wonderfully fattening food. Just what you would expect. McKenna loved it, Kambry wasn't so sure about it, and Aislynn just slept the whole time. We saw a few animals and rode a few rides. The girls really wanted spray on tatoos so daddy let them each get one. It was kinda cute. After getting home from the fair we got the girls dressed in their halloween costumes and took them to a "trick or trunk" at a local church. They loved getting candy and playing in the bouncy houses. It was a fun filled day. So Sunday, we relaxed and stayed around the house. Today I am really tired. I guess the weekend wore me out.

2 Months Already!!!

Wow, I can't even begin to believe how fast the last two months have flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was still pregnant and waiting for Aislynn to get here. And now, already two months old. I took her for her well baby check up this morning. Let me tell you, I just love military clinics. You would think that the military would be more efficient but that is far from the case. My appointment was at 0900 and they want you to be there early so I arrived about 10 minutes early. I checked in and quickly was taken back to get Aislynn's vital signs. Then they say, "Wait out in the waiting room and we will call you back shortly." By now it is about 0920. Twenty minutes later I am called back into a room only to wait for another 10 minutes. The doctor came in, checked out Aislynn, and went on her way. I do have to say that she was actually really nice and didn't act as if she was in a hurry though I know she must of been from the number of people waiting in the waiting room. After being seen by the doctor I was told to wait in the waiting area once again because Aislynn needed her first set of immunizations. Around 1020 we were done, but wait. The person that gave her the shots said I needed to once again wait in the waiting room for about 10 minutes before I left to make sure she wasn't going to have a reaction to anything. Needless to say, I stayed for 5 minutes and was on my way around 1030. My morning was shot by then because I had to get McKenna at 1200. So for the stats on Aislynn. She is now 10 lbs 7 3/4 ounces and 23 3/4 inches. She is long and lean, well kinda lean. Sorry about all the talk about my appointment but is does get old having to wait and wait and wait with a 2 month old and a 2 year old. I wish someone could organize them a little more.
Tommorrow I am planning on finding a place to take the girls for some pumpkin day fun. I know a lot of places around here are doing things for Halloween and I am sure the girls would enjoy it. So, check in later this weekend to see what we did.

All about McKenna

McKenna is loving her pre-kindergarten class. Today she is on a field trip and was so excited about taking her bag lunch. I am really glad that we found out about the program because it is really preparing her for school next year. She practices writing her name just about everyday and is working on her other letters of the alphabet also. I put a picture I took of it. They teach her spanish and some sign language too which will be great to know. The other day I overheard her talking to Kambry asking her "¿Cómo estás?" and "Buenos días." She was also saying "rapido" which she learned from Dora the Explorer. It is so funny just how much they absorb at such a young age. I can't wait to see how she grows and learns in the next few years. My little girl is growing up so fast.

Practice makes perfect

Aislynn is practicing her talking already. This is not a good video of what she can do but you get the picture.

Pumkins!!

The girls have been asking for a week now when we are going to get our pumpkins. Well, yesterday we did. I wanted to find a real pumpkin patch around here like we did last year but with no success decided to stop at a local church that had made their own "pumpkin patch". It was getting later in the day, plus we had done a few hours of shopping across town so Kambry was a little tired to say the least. The girls picked out little pumpkins and Bart and I spotted a nice big one for this year. McKenna wants us to carve a kitty this year so we found a couple of nice patterns for a black cat. I didn't get any good pics of all the girls because Kambry was not in the mood to take pictures. I plan on going back later this week so we can get a picture of all the girls in the pumpkins. We did finally get Kambry's halloween costume and though she wanted to be a spider decided on a cute girl scarecrow instead. She looks really cute in it and both girls are ready to start wearing their costumes. Aislynn isn't getting a costume this year, she's just going to wear a halloween outfit. Just a little over 10 days to go till Halloween. I just dread all the candy they are going to get. I suppose Bart and I will have to help them with all the goodies.

New Bathtub

So I decided that Aislynn was ready for a new bathtub. She was getting too big to fit in the sink in the bathroom and she didn't really like sponge baths all that much. This morning was her first bath in the new tub and she loved it. Of course big sister, Kambry, was there to help out. I am sure that Aislynn will look forward to her baths now!!

First photos all together

Since the birth of Aislynn we have yet to assemble together to take a family picture. Well, on Monday we went back to the beach and worked with the elements to take as good of a picture as possible, considering. It seems as if one child would look the other wouldn't. I was doing good if Aislynn just wasn't crying. Getting her to look at the camera would have been asking a bit much. She actually seemed to enjoy this trip to the beach. McKenna and Kambry both got their pants wet before I was ready for them to. They tried building a sand castle and ended up with a pile of sand. It was a fun time to say the least.

In other news on the homefront, we have our home gym ready to go. Now the challenge will be putting it to good use to get rid of these excess pounds I have from the pregnancy. Of course, eating ice cream and drinking my addiction (Dr Pepper) doesn't help things. Yesterday, Bart put our walkway lights out in the yard. They look really good but what should have taken about an hour took much longer because we had to figure out a way to get the cord across the sidewalk without seeing it. It all worked out in the long run but we had to do some digging. I can't think of much else to tell so I suppose I will end this for now. Bye!!

Just another Sunday

So not much has happened around here since my last post. Bart has a four day weekend (they call it a 96) because of Columbus day so that's nice. We are going to try to get the "gym" up and running this weekend. It consists of a treadmill, bowflex, and something called a power tower which basically a pull up station in our garage. I still have about 10 lbs to lose to get where I was. Ideally, I would like to lose 15 lbs but that may be pushing it. Yesterday we went to the outlet mall in Foley, AL. It's just about a 30 minute drive. I know I just went this past week but Bart wanted to check it out and I wanted to finish getting shirts for us to wear for a family picture we are going to attempt at the beach tomorrow. My friend Lauren is grateful to be taking our pictures for us. I am excited, I just hope that Aislynn is happy (or at least not crying). I am going to add some new pics of Aislynn to her website. She is getting so big. I have been meaning to step on the scale with her and see how much she weighs. If I had to guess I would say at leat 11 lbs. Her legs are starting to get the chubby fat. When we went to the Commisary today I put her in the baby Bjorn carrier thing and she really seemed to like it this time. She even fell asleep and I had to wake her to get her out. I think I will try using it more often so she doesn't have to be in her car seat as much. She just doesn't like the car seat at all and I don't really know why. Anyways, wish me luck on pictures tomorrow and I will post some when I get them.

Wow, a week already

I have realized that it's been a week since I have posted anything. I guess nothing much has happened in the last week. We took it easy over the weekend. On Saturday we decided to check out the Navy Exchange on base. For those who don't know, it's the shopping "mall" for military folks. It was pretty nice considering. We were looking for an ice cream maker. The one we had is all rusted at the bottom and we want to make some home-made ice cream. We thought the girls would have fun helping out. Sunday was football day again. The Cowboys won so it was a good day. Monday was monday. That's all I have to say about that. On tuesday, Lauren and I went to check out the outlet mall about 30 min away. It was a long day and we didn't even go to half of the stores. It's amazing how shopping can really wear you out. We did discover the best soft pretzels at the food court. Silly I know, but it really made our day. Then we come to today. I don't think I accomplished much of anything. I am okay with that though. Here is a picture of the girls from this past weekend. Enjoy, and until next time...be safe!!

Time for a change

Now that we are all settled into the house and have been for about a month, I have decided that we have too much stuff. Actually I knew this all along but it has become reality when I am tripping over toys every day. I try to get the girls to clean up after themselves but at their age they only do so much. So I have decided to declutter the toy room and the girls rooms. So far we are making progress. McKenna and Kambry's rooms are clean and clutter free. Now the trick is keeping the toys in the play room until I am done going through things. So, that is the change going on in my life today.
Right now all the girls are sleeping so I have some time to relax. I had Kambry lay down in our room because hers was a little warm and when I went to go get something out of my room I discovered that she locked herself in there. Luckily we have those stick things to unlock the interior doors and I was able to unlock it after about 15 minutes of trying. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it. I even had to call Bart and see if there was some trick to getting it unlocked. So, that was my excitement for the day.
The pic I posted is of Aislynn today. I can't believe how big she is getting. I called to make her 2 month check up today and they told me I can't make it until she is enrolled in Tricare Prime which she is supposed to be covered under for the first 60 days anyways. Just one more thing the military makes difficult. They won't even let me make the appointment which is the frustrating part. Well, I guess I will go and tackle a little more of the play room while all is quiet here.
